A thought on Christmas Eve

[vimeo id="82043331"] Christmas is a very special time in the world. This season is always marked by excitement filled with caroling, shopping, gift giving and perhaps some traveling to be with family and friends. It’s a wonderful opportunity to intentionally live and do life with the people around you. On this Christmas Eve, as you prepare to celebrate this incredible event, I want to take a moment to share a thought or two with you.

I am a huge believer in reflecting on life and the journey we’re privileged to navigate. Our lives are filled with all kinds of significant events that bring meaning and substance to this adventure called life.

Perhaps the most significant of all events for us was the time we received a gift that we did not deserve, but was freely given to us. This one event is the one component that binds us in one accord in our faith. I want to encourage you to take some time in the days ahead and reflect on the single greatest gift ever given – Jesus.

Most of us are very familiar with the scripture of John 3:16. It rings ever more true during this season as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This season let us remember this extraordinary gift that our loving Father in heaven so graciously gave us.

We are God’s beloved creation and through this single gift, He restored our lives into a personal relationship with Him. Without this great gift, our lives would look dramatically different. It is the wholeness brought forth in Jesus, and His work in our lives, that enables us to truly celebrate the Christmas season. Be encouraged and enjoy this time with all its magnificent blessings.

So, Merry Christmas! I pray you and your loved ones enjoy the days ahead as you celebrate our Savior’s birth.
