College Without Communism: Reclaiming Truth in Higher Education

When most people think of college, they picture lectures, dorm rooms, and maybe a career path at the end. But college was never just about job training. It was originally about shaping lives, forming character, and pursuing truth.

Today, too many universities have drifted from that purpose. Instead of forming leaders, they’re feeding students destructive ideologies that reject faith, family, and freedom. The result? A generation confused about who they are, what they believe, and what they’re here to do.

Here’s what went wrong, and how we reclaim the truth in higher education.

1. College was created to form minds, not push agendas

The earliest schools, like Plato’s Academy or the great Christian universities of the Middle Ages, weren’t about degrees or prestige. They were about truth and mentorship. Students learned how to think deeply, live wisely, and lead with virtue. Over time, that vision gave way to bureaucracy and ideology. Today, many universities prioritize conformity over curiosity and politics over purpose.

2. Communist ideas took root in the classroom first

The chaos we see in culture didn’t start in politics. It started in education. For decades, Marxist and socialist ideologies have been planted in classrooms under the disguise of progress. These worldviews claim to bring equality, but they actually crush freedom, silence faith, and erode responsibility. As Lenin once said, “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” That is what we’re seeing now.

3. We’re living in the harvest of that ideology

When education loses truth, a nation loses its soul. We’ve seen this play out in history in places like Romania, where communism replaced freedom with fear and prosperity with poverty. Today, students graduate with debt, doubt, and disillusionment because their minds were shaped by systems that reject God, identity, and purpose. It’s time to call it what it is: a spiritual and cultural crisis.

4. Christ-centered education offers a better way

At faith-based universities like Southeastern, we’re building something different. We believe students should be spiritually grounded, academically prepared, and practically equipped for life. That’s why we’ve launched more than 250 partner campuses inside churches, nonprofits, and businesses. These campuses offer affordable, hands-on education that connects truth with real-world purpose. We’re not just preparing students for jobs. We’re preparing them for their calling. At the same time, we honor the legacy of Charlie Kirk, who sounded the alarm on how campuses were shifting away from freedom, faith, and truth. His call to wake up a generation anchors our mission and reminds us we must stand courageously for what matters.

5. This generation is ready for something real

Students today don’t need more political agendas. They need clarity, courage, and truth. They need mentors who will challenge them to think critically, live boldly, and discover who God created them to be. College Without Communism is more than a book. It is a vision for reclaiming education and raising up leaders who will carry truth into every corner of society.

Because when Christ shapes the classroom, He can shape the future.
