New Year's

[vimeo id="149342370"] Let me wish you a very Happy New Year’s!  This is always an exciting time for many of us because it’s a chance for a fresh start! It’s a great time to think and strategize how we would like our lives to be different. It’s a time to let go of the past mistakes and move forward into the plans God has for us. It’s also a time when we all make those “New Year’s Resolutions” that we forget in a couple of weeks. But in every way, the New Year marks a season of change! So here are a few thoughts on how to develop a fresh start in the coming year.

First of all, take time to reflect on the past year. Ask yourself some questions. What were your three favorite moments from the past year? Why were those your favorite? Could something similar happen in 2016?

What about your three greatest successes? How did you achieve them? What leadership principles did you learn along the way?

And of course, you also need to remember your mistakes. What were the three things you wish you could have done differently? What lessons did you learn? What change did those mistakes cultivate inside of you?

The second key is to take time and dream about the coming year. What would be your definition of a successful year? What would be three most important things you would like to accomplish by then? What are the things you are blazingly passionate about? How can your dreams for 2016 align with your passions? Try and envision achievements beyond what you think you can do. And don’t be afraid to dream big!

The third key is to strategize. Now that you have your vision for 2016, what are the steps you need to get there? Don’t try to do everything at once. Break them down into small, manageable goals. As you continue to reach each goal, you’ll build more and more momentum. Your momentum will help carry you through those times you want to give up. After a few weeks, you’ll find it a lot easier to stay on track to achieve your dream!
